With the year coming to an end, it is a good opportunity to reflect upon the last 12 months. The year 2020 has certainly been a special year for all of us. For me, it certainly had some very special moments. It was a year I started in Svalbard. The year I got invited by NASA. The year I spend in isolation writing my thesis. The year when everybody was in lockdown while I went on Easter trips. The year I got my PhD. The year I spent my first full summer in Svalbard. The year that laid the foundation for new research projects on UAV icing. The year I traveled the least. The first year that I have not seen my family and some of my closest friends. The year that would not end – but finally did.
