Riel Miller is the head of Futures Literacy in UNESCO and one of the world’s leading authorities on the theory and practice of using the future to change what people see and do. He is also a part of the International Advisory Board for AFINO.

This year it is 26 years since UNESCO created the World Book and Copyright Day on April 23th. Since 1995 the celebration of the day has grown all over the world, and has shown itself to be a great opportunity for reflection and information on a significant theme.
This year AFINO invites you to join in the celebration, with a recommendation from UNESCOs head of Futures Literacy.
–  I think I have to recommend my own book, Riel Miller says, and elaborates:

– The future is powerful, it is the source of our hopes and fears. Futures Literacy is a capability that enables people to use the future for different reasons, in different ways, in different contexts. The book, Transforming the Future: Anticipation in the 21st Century, provides an overview of Futures Literacy and a set of case studies that provide evidence of the effectiveness of an action-learning/action-research approach to cultivating Futures Literacy.
Readers can download the book for free here (in pdf).

Happy World Book Day!
