Research Statement:

My research focuses on clinical health and/or developmental psychology, with a particular emphasis on reducing risk factors and improving outcomes for individuals with various health conditions. Through my extensive network of international collaborators and my prospective academic position, I aim to engage in research projects on an international and institutional level, including clinical settings such as hospitals.

Collaborating with researchers from Austria, North America, Sweden, Hong Kong, Canada, and Norway, I seek to develop and implement prevention and intervention strategies to address the needs of cancer survivors, addicts, individuals with depression, insomnia, and eating disorders. By leveraging the expertise and resources within this diverse network, we can make significant strides in understanding and mitigating these health challenges.

I possess a strong interest in both traditional and advanced quantitative methods, with demonstrated skills in qualitative research. My previous work has encompassed cross-cultural perspectives on identity, positive youth development, resilience, and physical and mental health. I have actively participated in international Positive Youth Development research groups, including the cross-national project at the University of Bergen and Texas Tech University.

My research interests span child and adolescent psychopathology, attachment, risk behavior, identity, psychological testing, psychometrics, and intervention research such as cognitive rehabilitation. My research efforts are rooted in developmental science, applied developmental science, and public health approaches, such as prevention science. I have primarily focused on positive youth development and adolescent problem behaviors, aiming to enhance life skills, identity development, and healthy adolescent sexuality.

Establishing outreach research partnerships with schools and communities is another key aspect of my research. Through these collaborations, I aim to create and evaluate interventions that positively impact the lives of young people and, in some cases, prevent problem behaviors. This outreach research initiative exemplifies my commitment to making a practical difference in the lives of individuals and communities.

My research statement outlines my dedication to international collaboration, prevention and intervention strategies, and the exploration of positive youth development and problem behaviors across various health domains. With my extensive research experience, methodological expertise, and network of collaborators, I am well-equipped to contribute to the advancement of health and/or developmental psychology research on a global scale.
