Markus Storeide (1996) is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Computer Science, NTNU Gjøvik. He is a member of the Colourlab.
Research Project
I'm interested in how we can extract spatial geometric information from 3D-scans of tangible objects, with special focus on small-scale details in high resolution representations. Retaining these details and mapping how they potentially are lost in post-processing stages are also important topics in my research.
Additionally, the fusion of multimodal data like appearance attributes (Colour, Gloss, Texture, Translucency) and spectral reflectance values to 3D objects is also a topic I'm working on.

In this investigation we compare several different metrics for evaluating the quality of a 3D object, both objectively and perceptually.
Standardization of Digitized Heritage: A review of implementations of 3D in cultural heritage
This review aims to underline the current limitations in implementing 3D workflows for various cultural heritage purposes. 45 projects are reviewed, along with the most prominent guidelines for workflows and ways of implementing the 3D data on the web.
Pixel-Based Vertex Clustering for Spectral Data Enrichment of Planar Point Clouds
Application of both hyperspectral imaging and 3D point clouds have been utilized in various fields that investigates a surface’s geometrical properties and its material characteristics. We propose an approachable and fast workflow that fuse these data.
