PhD Project: Microplastic Cycles in Northern latitudes
The aim of the PhD project is to investigate the role of microplastics in major coastal sedimentary processes; identifying potential accumulation `hotspots` and significant transportation pathways.
My research focusses on microplastic dispersal in glacierized and formerly glaciated catchments & fjords. The methods employed are field & ship-based. Microplastic characterization is aided by spectrographic techniques.
Funding
This PhD is supported by NTNU Oceans, the Arctic Field Grant, and The Research Council of Norway is acknowledged for the support to the Norwegian Micro- and Nano-Fabrication Facility, NorFab, project number 245963/F50 facilities utilised for this PhD.
