I have a masters degree in Energy, Environment and Society from the department of media and social sciences (UiS), with a specialisation on blue and green hydrogen energy cultures in Northern Norway. Through my academic journey, I have studied in Paris area, Copenhagen area, Montréal, Tromsø, and Stavanger.
My PhD project examines the geopolitical and environmental dimensions of nickel in the global energy transition, focusing on Indonesia, New Caledonia, and Norway. As demand for critical minerals intensifies due to renewable energy growth, challenges in balancing resource sovereignty, economic benefits, and environmental impacts arise. Through a multi-scalar analysis, my PhD aims to research the governance of nickel supply chains, exploring how local policies, global market dynamics, and sustainability goals intersect to shape resource management strategies amid shifting geopolitical landscapes.
