Bakgrunn og forskningsinteresse

Barneendokrinolog, leder for Regionalt senter for fedmeforskning og innovasjon (ObeCe) St. Olavs hsopital, Trondheim universitetssykehus. Forskningsinteressen er fedme (barn) med metabolske og endokrinologiske komplikasjoner inludert PCOS, og dekker både klinisk forskning, helsetjenesteforskning og forebygging.

Main current projects

NUL-FAT – Novel ULtrasound method for early diagnosis of metabolic-dysfunction associated FATty liver disease (MASLD) is a comprehensive interdisciplinary project aiming to improve knowledge and management of this rapidly increasing and severe disorder. Research focus coveres developing novel diagnostcs including ultrasound technology with the potential of 'point-of-care' solutions, biomarkers (lipidomics, microbiota), novel medications and health service innovations.

Can increased knowledge about body image improve health care for families with children with obesity? A joint initiative between Trondheim municipality, NTNU and St Olav hospital (ObeCe) mapping body image and body dissatisfaction during school age and in treatment receiving patients.

EurEvira: European multicenter randomised-controlled study testing the effect of a novel e-health descision support tool for families during treatment of childhood obesity.

“eBATTLE Obesity”: A national multicenter randomized - controlled trial off eHealth based cognitive behavioral therapy, low-energy diet and semaglutide for adolescents with severe obesity

www.kostverktoyet.no This web-site provide knowledge and support to families with children with overweight, and health care professionals in charge of supporting them. The web-site has several hundred user evrey week and is constantly upgraded.
