Forskningen min er preget av bred tverrfaglighet som omfatter sikkerhetsstudier, internasjonale studier, kjønnsforskning og fred- og konfliktstudier med et sterkt fokus på empiriske kvalitative metoder. Mitt nåværende forskningsprosjekt analyserer diskursene knyttet til kjønn og mangfold i det norske forsvaret.

Jeg har tidligere jobbet som sjef for seksjon for forskning og utvikling på Fakultet for samfunnsvitenskap, OsloMet -- Storbyuniversitet. Før jeg begynte på OsloMet, jobbet jeg som seniorforsker på Fafo.
I 2022 ble jeg valgt inn til fakultetsstyre som representant for midlertidige ansatte.
I januar 2023 ble jeg en del av ledergruppe ved ISS som nestleder for organisasjon og utvikling.

Forskning
Citizenship, diversity, equality, and inclusion in the Norwegian military
My current project examines the discourses related to equality and diversity within the Norwegian military, in particular the interplay between these discourses and evolving notions of equality, citizenship, masculinity, and the national interest.
Sexual Exploitation and Abuse in UN Peacekeeping
In Nov 2023, I gave evidence at the high-level Prevention and Response to Sexual Misconduct Stakeholder Review Conference organized by WHO--based on over a decade of research into sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) by UN peacekeepers (pub forthcoming).
